Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few common questions (and their answers) A CLEAN SLATE has encountered. Should you have a question that has not been answered on the following page, please ask. You can do so HERE, as well as the link at the bottom of the page.

What is Home Staging?

Home Staging is a three step process in which you home is neutralized for sale. This is done by removing personal mementos, excess furniture and accessories that may deter buyers from placing an offer. The final product is a property that has maximum appeal for the greatest number of buyers. With home staging your property is more likely to sell quicker and be more profitable.

I have watched all those shows on TV - Can't I do it myself?

Simply put, NO.

Staging is more then what you see on those shows. It's a process in which the use of strategic furniture arrangement, specific colour palettes and visual cues are employed to guide the potential buyer throughout the property as you want them to see it. A Certified Staging Professional (CSP) is specifically trained to highlight your property's main features through these means. Once a house has been staged and showcased by a CSP you are guaranteed to have the maximum buyer appeal that may result in a quicker and more profitable sale.

Why would I want to put money into a house I'm selling?

Having an un-staged property may result in poorly attended open houses, bad press (unappealing pictures in advertisements or on internet real estate sites) and general lack of interest. These situations usually leave a house stale on the market for months without any offers, or even potential buyers. The result of this usually ends up being a price reduction upwards and beyond $10,000. Furthermore, if a house seems outdated or in need of repair more may be discounted before the final sale.

The result: $15,000 - $20,000 + dollars being lost on the sale of the property.

By re-using items and making minor impovements, A CLEAN SLATE will maximize the appeal of your property ensuring the buyer sees the vaule it holds.

My house has been on the Market for months, Is there still hope in selling?

YES!

Houses that have been stale on the market have usually been seen by everyone who is seriously looking. It is at that point your property has become invisible. With staging completed, your property will have a fresh new look and feel along with a competitive edge on the market. A CLEAN SLATE will work with your Real Estate Salesperson to "Relaunch" your property appropriately and re-gain interest of potential buyers.

Are there no guarantees with Home Staging?

A CLEAN SLATE guarantees that your property will be at it's maximum potential for buyer appeal
